Quality always takes pride of place at ARKEN. Whether it’s a meeting for two or an event for 700, together we can create and customize a truly memorable experience.
The magnificent architecture, sculpture park, beach and ideal parking facilities combined with the Concert & Conference Hall, Film Hall, Damien Hirst Gallery and several smaller spaces in the museum form the perfect setting for all types of events.
ARKEN provides the option to complement your meeting, conference or event with an inspiring visit to the exhibitions, a private tour or a creative workshop. AV equipment and free WIFI access are also available.

Facilities
ARKEN is more than a fascinating museum packed with world-class art. It is also a fantastic place to hold an event being uniquely located in the beautiful landscape of Ishøj Beach Park with a marvelous view across Køge Bay and just a 20 minutes’ drive from the city center of Copenhagen.
The museum is situated on an Art Island – a green leisure-oriented area where bridges, water, forest and dunes form the primary elements. In the museum’s forecourt, guests are greeted by ARKEN’s signature artwork, the artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset’s fanciful equestrian statue of a jubilant boy on his rocking horse – welcome!

There are numerous opportunities to actively involve art as part of your event at ARKEN.
Workshops
Do you wish to develop creativity among your staff and strengthen effective working relationships in your team? ARKEN arranges workshops with art as the centrepiece.
Art challenges our traditional thought patterns and helps us to cast new light on everyday challenges. At ARKEN the dialogue begins with art!
We offer two different kinds of workshops:
- A half-day workshop lasting approx. three hours. Read more here.
- A customized all-day workshop lasting approx. seven hours.
A workshop at ARKEN is a comprehensive experience organized in close consultation with you and always focuses on the museum’s current exhibition. An experienced team of educators ensures that you receive a truly inspiring experience in a totally unique setting.
In addition, ARKEN’s chef and her team can offer innovative and delicious dining experiences during the day. Combine the workshop with an enjoyable walk on the beach or exploration of the sculpture park on The Art Island.
Tours & Presentations
ARKEN´s competent professional arts staff are available to give tours of the changing exhibitions as well as presenting introductions to selected artists and/or the museum’s architecture. Read more here.

COVID-19
At ARKEN, we ensure a safe and secure environment for your meetings and events. Our top priority is the safety of our guests and staff, and we ask everyone to be especially thorough with hygiene and use hand sanitizer. Dispensers are set up around the museum and at all meeting facilities and catering areas. We have introduced extra cleaning, especially on contact surfaces.
We meet all Danish Government guidelines in stricter rules regarding the number of people in each room and ensure appropriate distance between all delegates throughout the events. We have extraordinarily large rooms and can presently seat 175 for Conferences and Dinners.
There are restrictions on the number of people who can visit each room in the exhibitions and delegates at meetings have priority to visit the galleries.
Meals are served in portions and / or served by waiters. We also offer very nice individual packaging for servings at meeting tables.
