“With Eva Steen Christensen – Hydra, ARKEN presents Eva Steen Christensen’s largest solo show to date, thereby highlighting one of Denmark’s leading visual artists. The exhibition presents several of Steen Christensen’s most important works accompanied by two entirely new sculptures created especially for the exhibition. One of these sculptures is made from second-hand clothes, tablecloths and bed linen donated by local residents via the shopping centre Ishøj By Center, while the other is made of used nylon stockings. With the exhibition, Eva Steen Christensen wishes to examine some of art history’s and society’s entrenched perspectives on gender, climate and diversity.”
