THE DANISH GIRL AT ARKEN

See the blockbuster movie The Danish Girl in ARKEN's film hall.

In connection to the museum’s current exhibition with Danish artist Gerda Wegener ARKEN will show the Oscar-winning blockbuster The Danish Girl from Friday, 24 June until 8 January 2017.

The film is shown in the film hall every day at 11 am and 2 pm.

Duration: 2 hours. Free with admission to the museum.

Please note that the film may be canceled due to other events. The film is canceled wednesday the 2th of november at 11 am and wednesday the 9th of november at 2 pm

About The Danish Girl

The Danish Girl tells the story of Einar Wegener, who became known as the trans woman Lili Elbe and was one of the first people to undergo gender corrective surgery. The movie stars Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe and the role of Gerda Wegener is played by Alicia Vikander who won an Oscar for her portrait of the Danish artist. Tom Hooper directed the movie which is partly filmed in Copenhagen.
